The Electric Circle Initiative: A GoPlugable-Led Community Event Driving Green Technology Forward
The electric vehicle (EV) and solar energy landscapes are rapidly evolving, driven by innovation and increasing public interest in sustainable living. Recognizing the need to foster an informed community, GoPlugable recently launched "The Electric Circle," a series of engaging events designed to enlighten and connect enthusiasts, experts, and newcomers in the field of green technology.
The inaugural event, held in a cozy venue conducive to conversation and connection, saw 22 participants gather to delve into the benefits and realities of adopting greener living standards. This gathering was not just about passing information but creating a platform where real-world experiences and knowledge could freely circulate among attendees.
Speaker Highlights and Expert Insights
The event featured a lineup of distinguished speakers, each bringing their unique perspective and expertise to the table:
Jim Howe shared personal anecdotes about the day-to-day benefits of driving an EV, emphasizing the ease of maintenance and the joy of leaving conventional vehicles in the dust. His experiences resonated with those new to EVs and those considering making the switch.
Simon Acton from Next Eco Car tackled the financial aspects of owning an EV. In his much-anticipated Part 2 video presentation, Simon discussed the price parity of electric cars with ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicles, highlighting how EVs are becoming an economically viable option for the average consumer.
Paul Clifford from DC EV elaborated on the differences between leasing and subscribing to an EV, and how potential buyers could benefit from trying an EV before making a purchase decision. His insights provided clarity and helped demystify some of the common concerns prospective buyers have.
One of the event’s highlights was the inclusion of DC EV's fleet of electric vehicles, featuring three models, including the much-talked-about Citroën Ami. This compact and stylish EV became the star of the show, with many attendees taking the opportunity to experience their first EV test drive, solidifying their interest and curiosity in electric mobility.
Expanding the Circle
Buoyed by the success of the Drogheda event, GoPlugable is excited to announce that "The Electric Circle" will continue, with upcoming events scheduled in Dublin and Belfast. These events aim to build on the momentum, bringing together more individuals and companies working towards a sustainable future.
A Call for Partnerships
As we expand our event series, GoPlugable is actively seeking partnerships with companies and organizations that are at the forefront of the green technology revolution. These collaborations are crucial as they enhance the event’s resource pool and provide attendees with a broader spectrum of information and expertise.
We are grateful to our current partners whose support was instrumental in the success of our first event, and we look forward to welcoming new partners who wish to join this exciting initiative. Interested parties are encouraged to visit our partner page for more details on how to get involved.
