In the bustling heart of Dublin, amidst the glamour of a black-tie event at the Shelbourne Hotel, something extraordinary happened at the inaugural Electric Vehicle Awards 2024. In a room filled with 300 attendees representing the best the industry has to offer, Maebh Reynolds, our CEO and a proud mechanical engineering graduate from Queen's University, stood out for her presence and her achievement. Maebh was among only two individuals honoured with awards that evening, marking a significant milestone for her and GoPlugable.

GoPlugable, now less than a year old and our product still in the early stages, was shortlisted for two prestigious categories: Best Data or Software Innovation in the EV sector and EV Charging Innovation of the Year. To stand among such a noteworthy list of brands and companies was, in itself, an honor we deeply cherished. It was a testament to our team's hard work, our innovative vision for the future of electric vehicle charging, and the potential impact of our platform.

While we extend our congratulations to Simon Acton for clinching the Best Data or Software Innovation award - a well-deserved win - and to Team Weev for securing the Charge Point Operator of the Year award, we also want to highlight the supportive spirit within the EV community. The work Team Weev has accomplished with their after project has been foundational for the EV infrastructure in the northeast of Ireland, and their support during our launch phase has been invaluable. We look forward to fostering this collaborative spirit as we continue to innovate within the EV charging landscape.

Special accolades also go to Chris Kelly, who, alongside Maebh, was the other individual award winner of the evening, receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award. To share this prestigious recognition with someone of Chris's stature was incredibly special for Maebh and the entire GoPlugable team.

Furthermore, having the award presented by Aoife O'Grady, Head of Zero Emission Vehicle Ireland (ZEVI), added an extra layer of significance to the occasion. We are excited about the prospect of participating in ZEVI's EV charger sharing pilot program in the near future.

Reflecting on the night, Maebh expressed her heartfelt gratitude and excitement:

"I am truly delighted and humbled to share the stage with industry veterans like Chris Kelly. It's a significant trust placed in us, and I am invigorated to carry forward the work we do at GoPlugable. This recognition is not just for me but for our entire team and the supportive community around us."

The inaugural Electric Vehicle Awards 2024 was more than an event; it was a celebration of innovation, progress, and the collective drive towards a sustainable future in the EV industry. Backed by this recognition, our commitment to transforming the EV charging landscape grows stronger as we move forward. We are on a mission to make electric vehicle charging more accessible, efficient, and community-driven, and awards like these remind us of the impact we can achieve together.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey. Here's to many more milestones and innovations as we charge ahead into a brighter, greener future.
