GoPlugable Welcomes ZEVI's Shared Charging Pilot Scheme
We at GoPlugable are thrilled to see Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland(ZEVI) introduce the Shared Charging Pilot Scheme, an initiative that empowers homeowners to rent out their EV chargers to others. This program is a significant step toward enhancing EV infrastructure and promoting sustainable transportation across Ireland.
While the ZEVI pilot is managed by a different vendor, GoPlugable has been pioneering this concept, running successful pilots in both Ireland and the UK. Our experience has provided valuable data and insights into the benefits and challenges of peer-to-peer EV charging.
With over 200 active hosts, we proudly stand as Ireland's largest charger-sharing network.
We extend our gratitude to Minister Darragh O'Brien TD and the ZEVI team for launching this pilot, which will undoubtedly raise awareness and encourage more participants in the charger-sharing ecosystem. A special thank you to motoring expert Geraldine Herbert for highlighting about our pilots on Newstalk during the Pat Kenny Show , bringing attention to the importance of accessible charging options.
For those interested in joining the movement, GoPlugable's all-island pilot is open for sign-ups. Visit goplugable.com/one-island-one-charge to become part of Ireland's most extensive charger-sharing network.
As the ZEVI Shared Charging Pilot Scheme currently focuses on select regions in Dublin, GoPlugable continues to offer nationwide opportunities for hosts and users, ensuring that EV charging is convenient and accessible for all.
Together, through initiatives like the ZEVI car charger sharing pilot and GoPlugable's ongoing efforts, we are building a robust and user-friendly EV charging infrastructure across Ireland.
